Ten years ago I had a dead-end job that I hated and thought that was all there was. One day I was speaking to a friend of mine who was doing really well for himself. He was sick of my complaining about my job everytime we saw each other. He wanted to hang out and have conversations friends have, not sit there and listen to an unhappy person. So he let me in on how he became so successful. He told me that he was into marketing products on the Internet. In the past, he would just say he had a marketing business, I never thought anything of it because I did not have a marketing background. He told me he did not know anything about marketing when he got started, he just copied what other successful Internet marketers were doing. He explained that if it was working for them, then it would work for him. Finally, he invited me over to his house to see exactly what he was doing. I was astonished at how easy it seemed. He said that it does take a little work, but the rewards were worth the wait.

He called it affiliate marketing and I asked him what the heck that was. He told me it is where you promote other peoples or companies products in exchange for a cut of the profits. It was the easiest online business you can get into he explained. There was no need for an office, no products to store, and you never have to support customers. He said you can work anywhere you had access to the Internet. I was very excited, I could not wait to start my own online business. After a couple more training sessions, I was ready to get started. He told me where to look for products to promote, how to promote them, and how easy it was to earn an income doing it.

I left his house and purchased myself a laptop and had an Internet connection setup at my house. I utilized the tools whaich I learned from him and got started right away. I picked a product that was in high demand at the time. I setup my website, signed up for an affiliate program, and posted reviews and content about the products I was promoting. When I had enough content on my site, I promoted it with every free resource I could find. I promoted my website in forums, exchanged links with other websites, and wrote articles about the products I was promoting. After promoting for a few weeks, I could see the traffic steadily increase every day. After a month I had a ton of traffic pouring into my website and had earned my first commission. I was so excited, it was the best feeling I have had in a very long time. A few days later another sale showed up on my affiliate account. Then another and another, before I knew it I had a steady sales every day. It was not much, about 50 dollares a day, but it really helped out when added to my current income. About six months later I was making a few hundred dollars per day, this is when I quit my job and ran my online business full time. This was the best deceion I had ever made. Now I am earning a comfortable income from several websites using the same strategies my friend had taught me.

This changed my life, I have been more than grateful. I am sharing my story because I want to help out people who are in the same situation I was in.
